In December 2022, the Brothers of Mu Sigma Lambda supported charitable organizations in the Los Angeles metro area. This included a donation to the Adopt a Family program supported by Road 2 Damascus Church.
In response to the donation, Bro Ronald Thomas, the pastor of Road 2 Damascus church and MSL chaplain, shared the following message:
Good evening Brothers,
I wanted to share with the chapter that the funds that were donated to my church went to our program, Adopt A Family.
In this program we started last year, we committed to meet the financial needs of a family, whatever the needs were.
Over the course of the year we have provided Christmas gifts, food, payment of bills and rent. The family had recently had some hard times due to illness.
Because of the hospitalization of one of their children, Ms. Morales was unable to work, so since November, they needed rent paid, bills paid, and money for Christmas 2022. Because of Mu Sigma Lambda sewing into Road 2 Damascus Church, we were assured that the Morales family was able to celebrate Christmas.
“These are the smiles all of you have brought to my house. Thank you for everything. God bless you today and always.” – Ana Morales
Those of you that have been to my church know that 100% of all money contributed for our programs go to the program. There are no administrative costs or salaries that need to be paid. The $500 we received went all towards Adopt A Family.
The Lord God commands His disciples to build His kingdom here on earth and that has been my passion, one family at a time. In 2023 we are launching the R2D Foundation which will go further with our scholarships and expand the number of families that we will adopt. On behalf of the members of Road 2 Damascus Church and the Morales Family, I give you a heart felt THANK YOU and God’s blessings on each and everyone of you.
